Higher Tregidden lies in a secluded valley to the South of the Helford River on the Lizard Peninsula. The Lizard is unique, an ancient and mysterious place where a dramatic coastline, beautiful sandy beaches and rocky coves edge the rural landscape. The ideal place to escape to for a family holiday.
At Higher Tregidden you are perfectly located to visit many of the tourist attractions Cornwall has to offer, including the Eden Project, National Maritime Museum, Tate St. Ives and magnificent gardens such as Glendurgan and Trebah. The Helford River, Gillan Creek and the Bay offer superb sailing, boating and water sports for beginners and enthusiasts. The South West Coastal Path winds around the entire Peninsula offering spectacular walking for ramblers of all ages and abilities. You are no more than a short drive away from some of the prettiest beaches and fishing villages, good local pubs and restaurants
Once part of Lord Falmouth’s estate,the cottages at Higher Tregidden are traditionally built Cornish farm buildings which have been converted to provide really comfortable accommodation while retaining their original charm and character. They are surrounded by our seven acres of meadow, orchard and woodland which visitors are welcome to explore and enjoy – all tucked away down a private lane.
The self catering holiday cottages at Higher Tregidden each have a private garden but visitors are also welcome to explore and enjoy our surroundings. We have a total of seven acres including meadow, orchard and woodland....great for children to run around, for exercising dogs or for sitting and enjoying the peaceful countryside - a real rural retreat.
Each holiday cottage has a dishwasher, Freeview TV, DVD, CD/radio and Wireless WiFi Internet Access. The private garden has garden furniture and a BBQ. In the utility there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, recycling facility, games and video library. Both cottages have oil fired central heating/hot water and a cot or highchair are available on request:
Cob Cottage (sleeps 6 - 4 adults & 2 children) in this beautiful 3 bedroom holiday cottage. Downstairs. Open plan accommodation with beamed ceilings. The living area has two comfortable sofas, coffee table and side furniture. The dining area has a table and chairs for six. The well equipped kitchen includes an electric cooker with fan oven, grill and ceramic hob, a fridge with ice box, a microwave oven and a larder. A stable door leads to outside seating area and garden beyond. Upstairs. Large double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Children’s bunk bedroom. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes; duvets, pillows and bed linen are all supplied. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, wc and basin.
James' Cottage (sleeps 5) in this beautiful 3 bed holiday cottage. Downstairs. The living room has an open beam ceiling, two comfortable sofas, armchair and side furniture. The kitchen/dining room has a table and chairs for five. The well equipped kitchen includes an electric cooker with fan oven, grill and ceramic hob, a fridge with ice box, a microwave oven and a dishwasher. A door leads to bedroom two on the ground floor with twin beds, wardrobe and drawers. Upstairs. Double bedroom with fitted wardrobe. Single bedroom with cabin bed and a washbasin. Duvets, pillows and bed linen are all supplied. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, wc and basin.
