Northumberland in North East England is spoilt for choice on what you can do on your family holiday. The market town of Alnwick is where Harry Potter scenes were filmed at the Alnwick Castle. Cycling is popular and the national cycle route (no 68) meanders up the Breamish Valley into Northumberland national Park. Further afield you can visit places such as Bamburgh for a wonderful walk and feast on local kippers and salmon in Craster. There is some superb local fayre at the local eateries which are all child friendly. During the summer enjoy the famous Alnmouth Raft Race in August - a must to see!

Yorkshire is equally as stunning as family holiday destination. Walking and cycling in the stunning scenery is a given but you could always try something a little different. The majestic steam locomotives of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR), as filmed in Harry Potter, pass slowly through the countryside providing great entertainment for children - young & old!
