Set in the heart of the Parc Naturel des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin, the gites offer spacious, self contained accommodation in a semi rural setting and are located on the edge of the quiet village of Sainteny which is less than one hour from the port of Cherbourg and city of Caen. We provide an excellent touring base to visit historic towns, the Normandy landing beaches and other places of interest. Ideal for couples or families with young children and suitable for use throughout the year.
The gites or cottages comprise of 2 properties – 4 bedroom ‘ Chestnut Cottage ‘ and 4 bedroom ‘Walnut Cottage’, and are set within the 2 acre grounds of the owners home. A friendly but discreet service is assured. Both gites are well equipped and include a dishwasher, washing machine and TV/DVD player and free WiFi internet access.
Chestnut Cottage: 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom property comprising of: Downstairs : a large open plan lounge / dining room with comfortable seating and French doors opening out onto an individual patio area with furniture and looking over to the large shared gardens. The lounge has a TV with English freeview channels and a DVD player of which a selection of DVD’s can be loaned from the owners. Bathroom with full bath suite, sink and w.c., modern fully fitted and well equipped kitchen comprising of electric oven with gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and stainless steel appliances. Upstairs: 1 double bedroom and 3 twin bedrooms, shower-room with multi-jet power shower, sink and w.c.
Walnut Cottage: 4 Bedroom, 2 bathroom property comprising of: Downstairs: a large open plan lounge/dining room with comfortable seating with French doors opening out onto an individual patio area with furniture and looking over to the large shared gardens. Having three young boys ourselves - Jack, Harry & Tom, we appreciate that familieswith small children have very specific needs and from our own experience of holidaying abroad it is not practical or possible to take everything with you that the little people might need – we have tried, but mum is trapped in the car by a bed guard and dad faces the krypton factor trying to get everything in the boot...Here at Les Gites, we do more than just provide a Cot and a High Chair,the garden and grounds around the Gites are all fenced and gated for security and peace of mind and we provide the everyday equipment and necessities to make your family holiday as comfortable, enjoyable and as stress free as possible.We also provide a babysitting service, on request. Other items available on request free of charge are: travel cot, bed guards, stairgates, highchairs, baby monitor, baby changing mats and 2 McClaren Buggies with hoods and rain covers.
