Three traditional Irish farm cottages for vacation rental in the South East of Ireland, set in the landscaped grounds of an 18th Century house near New Ross. These approved self-catering holiday cottages make an ideal base for touring Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny. The South East region of Ireland attracts visitors from home and abroad, and whether you stay for a fortnight or just a weekend, you will find plenty of things to do and see, great local restaurants, and some of the finest scenery in the world. The friendly welcome and typical Wexford hospitality makes for a perfect holiday, summer or winter.
The cottages are located just 10 mins drive away from a selection of sandy beaches in South East Ireland and there is both a pub and shop within 2km. There is even an award winning restaurant within 10 mins drive. Other activities in the area include golf, horse riding, angling, forest park, The Dunbrody Famine ship and Ros Tapestry in nearby New
Ross.
Coach House sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms: is the largest of the three cottages, with ample room for a family or group of friends. The kitchen table is vast enough for a jigsaw down one end not to disrupt dinner, and for younger children the area under the stairs is a secret little play house. The Coach House is equipped to Failte Ireland four star rating, so the kitchen has a dishwasher, laundry room, and everything required by the chef. The living room with its open fireplace and well-stocked book shelves, big armchairs, and views of the garden is Irish country living at its finest. You may not want to go out at all, or maybe just for a stroll around the garden to admire the peacocks or kick a ball with the children. There are two bathrooms: shower downstairs and bath upstairs, and any of the three bedrooms ( one on the ground floor ) is large enough to accommodate the cot. All beds have good comfortable mattresses and pillows.
Kirbys Cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: this old stone cottage has the atmosphere and feel of an early Irish home, with an open fire in the kitchen/living room. Kirby's has the advantage of higher ceilings and bigger than traditional windows to let in light and allow you to enjoy the view across pastures bordered with magnificent mature trees. The comfortable sleeping accommodation comprises one double room beside the shower room, and a bright and airy twin room at the far side of the kitchen. A cot and highchair can always be provided, and there are plenty of toys and DVDs to keep children occupied. Electric storage heaters and an open fire ensure that nowhere could be cosier at the end of a day's touring the surrounding counties, Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and Carlow.
The Garden Cottage sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom: This romantic cottage for two has a light and spacious feel within the thick stone walls. While the tiny gallery bedroom may pose problems for anyone elderly or infirm as it has a low sloping ceiling and a winding stairs, most people will find it cosy and comfortable, and enjoy the wonderful view of the countryside. With a wood-burning stove, plenty of books and board games, WiFi as well as TV and DVD, this peaceful haven can be hard to leave, but the surrounding area is well worth exploring. The cottages are ideally situated for touring Ireland's South Eastern counties, and is less than an hour's drive from Rosslare ferry port.
The Devane family has been welcoming visitors from all over the world to Fruit Hill since 2002, and Susan or Richard are always available if help or advice is needed. They can arrange for a reliable babysitter if required. A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in a separate laundry building. An initial supply of fuel for the fires is provided in the welcome pack for each cottage.

Holiday Reviews from the Owners’ site
We have enjoyed a week at the Coach house. The grounds were lovely; the orchard and garden, the peacocks, the hens, the paintings and the family's friendliness. The local area is beautiful especially in good weather as the coastal towns and villages are charming. Very good food to be found locally too. The house was warm and welcoming at the end of busy days exploring.
The Coach House has a wonderful feel. The kitchen is very large with a big table in the middle. In fact all the rooms are spacious, fresh and clean. What is very special is the kindness and friendliness of Susan and Dick who are always very happy to give excellent detailed advice on things to see and do.For children there is plenty of space in the surrounding garden for bike riding and the Devane children to play with.
Another super holiday here. We've had a very relaxing time and seen a lot without going too far. We have been on the ferry to Waterford and seen the Treasures Museum. Across into Kilkenny to visit Inistioge ( very pretty ) and the beautiful gardens at Woodstock. Also enjoyed walking around the ruins of Dunbrody Abbey yesterday. Thank you for a great time!
Stayed in all three cottages as a big family group and it worked out brilliantly. The Devane family have created something quite unique here. Candles at Bennetsbridge were a fantastic find, and the wee folk museum was something else !!! The whole tourist trail across on the ferry to Woodstown beach, Dunmore East and Tramore made a fun day out.
A lovely warm cosy cottage - exactly what we needed to destress and unwind. A good base for visiting towns such as Kilkenny, Waterford, New Ross etc. Then cosy evenings by the fire, or happy hours in the local pubs. Thanks for all the welcoming touches. A relaxing week!
