We have stayed at these exceptionally clean and comfortable cottages on three occasions, always having a very warm welcome from Michele, Peter and the family, who are always willing to offer help and advice if required. The cottages have everything that you require for a family holiday or a romantic trip for two, they are set in a superb location, nestled on top of the hills over looking the Moray Firth and Fort George, the peace only broken by bird song and the occasional plane it is hard to leave at the end of your holiday. The Cottages are ideal to use as a base to travel the Highlands of Scotland, Ullapool is only an hour away, John O'Groats can be easily done in a day trip, there are so many other places close at hand, Cawdor Castle, Dunrobin Castle, Loch Ness, The Black Isle Brewery, Glenmorangie Distillery, The Black Isle Wildlife Park to name but a few and all with in one hours drive. For the wildlife enthusiast it ideal for watching the famous Moray Dolphins, these can be seen from the cottages or if you are lucky up close and personal at Chanoonry point. Birdlife abounds, from the Yellowhammers in the bushes to Red Kites and the occasional Osprey, with Deer, Pine Martins and Scottish Wildcats, for the privileged few. We recommend these cottages so highly that we used them for ourselves, friends and family when we got married in Fortrose in March this year, and intend to return at least once every year. Rating 5 out of 5, Stanley, Mar 2011.
We have stayed at these cottages on 3 occasions now and fully intend to go back. The views out over the Moray Firth, with Invernesss and the bridge to the West, the North Sea to the East and Fort George and the stunning Cairngorm Mountains to the south, are just amazing. The cottages sleep between 2 and 5 and are fully equipped with just about everything you need (except your food that is) and there is even a games room in the centre of the complex which will keep the kids quiet for hours. If you want to go walking, cycling, touring on a motorcycle or in a car this is an ideal base for them all. However probably the best attraction is that you are a couple of minutes drive from a place where you can see the only resident population of Bottlenose Dolphins in the UK and if you are lucky you can see them just off the beach at Chanonry point. If you see them you will not be disappointed. Rating 5 out of 5, Steve, July 2010.
My partner and our dogs have been visiting these self catering holiday cottages for 5 years now and will continue to do so every year for as long as we can. The quality of accommodation is second to none, the location gives beautiful views over the Moray Firth, the owners, Michele and Peter, are extremely helpful and friendly and it is a perfect spot for setting out to explore the highlands. We like our solitude on holiday and find we get that but that there are people around if we need any company. Dog friendly and a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Rating 5 out of 5, Fiona, July 2010.
We love these Moray Firth self catering cottages because of the warm welcome from Michelle and her family, the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful views and the dolphins at Chanonry Point. We have stayed on several holidays here as the cottages are comfortable and it the sort of place that you just want to go back to. Rosemarkie and Fortrose are a couple of miles away and have good shops and places to eat. It is in a good location to explore Scotland, it is about about an hours drive to Ullapool. Holiday Reviews from the Owners’ site
Thank you for a lovely holiday; we definitely plan to return. After a great week of dolphin sightings, we were really pleased to finish our holiday by watching them for ages on Saturday morning from our cottage.
Many thanks for letting us stay at your lovely cottages. The view was just so relaxing, and waking up to it after arriving in the dark the evening before was just magical. Having the 2 cottages for our party was ideal as there was always a quiet space to escape too! The kids just loved your dogs and horses...and the games room, especially the selection of DVDs and videos. Personally I can highly recommend the lady who does massages- lovely and relaxing. ` We would love to come back....the only fault at all that I can think of is that we had to leave!
What a fantastic place - the views, the scenery around the area, the peace and quiet, the dolphins at Chanonry Point, even the weather was kind to us. Lynn says its the best holiday she has ever had, so I'm sure we'll be back some time in the future and will happily recommend the accommodation there to any friends, family, work colleagues etc that may consider a holiday in Scotland
