West Cottage: is one of three at Hendersyde Farm and the first you come to along the cottage lane. Sleeps up to 4 people in a double & twin bedroom.
Southsyde: snuggles in the middle of the cottages. The surprisingly secluded, sheltered, south facing front garden, can be a real suntrap! Sleeping up to 4 people, the double room has a king-size bed. The beds in the twin room can be joined together to make a huge double, ideal if two couples would like to share the cottage. The bath room has an electric shower over the bath. The out-house is great for storing fishing rods, golf clubs and bikes.
East Cottage is at the far end of the lane, catching the morning sun! East Cottage sleeps up to 4 people, in a twin and double bedroom. The bed rooms have their original pine floor boards, with sheep-skin rugs. The other two cottages have fitted carpets in the bed rooms. Power shower over the bath. Holiday Reviews from the Owners’ site
Wonderful cottage, very good communication from Sue prior to stay, lovely warm welcome on arrival with freshly baked shortbread. Cottage had everything we needed, from log fire, plenty of bedding, baby cot, microwave to sterilise bottles in ... Cottages in very private setting; close enough to the farmhouse to ask owners when needed anything but not overlooked. Great views, nice garden with seating though weather not the best! Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
This has been my 3rd visit to West Cottage, I shall be visiting for a 4th time in early Oct. Would I keep coming back, if not fully satisfied + happy with the self catering cottage??? Definitely NOT. The cottage is warm + welcoming and Sue could not be more helpful. The rock cakes, on arrival, went down a treat. I recommend the Scottish Borders + these cottages at every opportunity. Kelso is a peaceful + pleasant town as are the surrounding towns. If you like walking and are interested in Scots/English history - this is the place for you. |
